Editions
PaneShift is one app in two editions. The Direct edition comes from the website and runs without the App Store sandbox. The Mac App Store edition is sandboxed, so it leaves out the features that need to run programs or reach every folder.

Which one should I choose?§
- Choose the Direct edition if you use the command line, run your own tools from the button bar, work in Git repositories, or want PaneShift to reach every folder without granting them one by one. Most Total Commander users want this one.
- Choose the App Store edition if you prefer apps from the App Store and work mainly in a few folders you can grant once.
When a feature is missing in the App Store edition, PaneShift says so in the status line instead of failing silently.
Which edition do I have?§
PaneShift › About PaneShift shows the edition, the version and the build number.
